Papillon Rescue UK

Success Stories…

Provided below are details given by our dedicated and hard working rescue co-ordinator, Mrs. D. Gornall, of the successful re-homing of the 19 dogs rescued by Papillon Rescue UK during the past year.

We do not have photos of all of them but their stories are given.

1. Louis

Signed to rescue as he had become too much for his previous owner, a rather large (14") boy. His temperament is second to none and he has been re-homed with a lovely family where is best friends with the son who at the time needed his own 'friend'

2. George

Re-homed with a lovely family in Scotland.

3. Jasper

Was brought to us when another breeder had bought him and found him to be in a terrible state and she had a lot of his teeth removed. The previous owner was contacted and he was subsequently signed to rescue. He is now happily re-homed.

4. Lily (and Timmie)

Although Timmie was not a papillon, they came in together and were re-homed together.

5. Beau

Another 'large' boy handed in due to family circumstances, now happily re-homed.

6. Loochoo

A pretty little girl, had originally been bought as a pet but was found to be living in less than ideal circumstances. The kind person who took her in sensibly decided, after much consideration, that she needed more time than she had to give so was signed to rescue, now happily re-homed.

7. Sophy

Has already had two homes to our knowledge prior to being signed to rescue. She was much loved in her second home but her intolerance towards the new baby meant a new home had to be found, She is now happily settled with other papillons and much more sylph like now!

8. Casey-Jones

Signed to rescue as he was too active for his previous owner. A super happy dog who has been re-homed to an agility home with a dog trainer. Re-named Gizmo - he is having lots of fun with his new 'doggie' family.

9. Honey

A beautiful little young phalene, very, very active, handed over to rescue via another breeder where she was left with no information about her. She has been re-homed to an agility home where she is doing fantastically. Click here to see Honey at her very first agility show.

10. Raffie

Signed to rescue when family circumstances meant it was no longer possible for him to stay where he was. Now-homed with 2 other papillons and loves his new home.

11 & 12. Cyber & Mia

Girls age 10 and 12 , Cyber came in very overweight and Mia quite underweight, possibly from swapping dishes when feeding! Cyber had a heart complaint. Both were re-homed together to a lovely couple where the have settled well.

13. Louie

Now happily rehomed.

14. Pero

Young dog, signed to rescue from a dog warden. He had been picked up on the streets and re-homed via the pound. He was returned a couple of days later for biting. Kindly picked up by a friend`s niece. He was then brought to PRUK for rehoming, He has since been re-homed to a very dog savvy family who are training him for agility.

15 & 16. Smokey and Bandit

Two 8 year old boys that were signed to rescue because of family circumstances, two lovely well balanced boys that came to rescue through no fault of their own and they have been re-homed together with other papillons and are well loved.

17 & 18. Kai & Quickie

Kai and Quickie were taken into rescue due to the illness of their owner. The owner's family felt unable to take them as they had to spend all of their time looking after their mother. They were devastated and would phone regularly asking how they were. Unfortunately or you could say fortunately, the new home where they were due to go to fell through because of illness. The next day Quickie and Kai's family phoned asking if they had been rehomed yet as they were now in a position to be able to look after them. They were returned to the family and were so ecstatic to see them that everyone, including our treasurer Chris who had been fostering them and some of the owner's neighbours, ended up in floods of tears. They are now living out their lives on a farm in Cornwall with a family of dogs and horses.

19. Phoebe

This 5 year old little girl who came into rescue recently has been re-homed to a home where they are able to continue working on her temperament issues. We are so pleased that this `right home` came along at the right time for her and, hopefully, in time, Phoebe will continue to improve and turn out to be the loving little dog that she could be.

20. Dylan

21. Pepi

Successfully rehomed

22. Sam

Also successfully rehomed, but due to his great age, passed away six months after going to his new home.

23. Jamie

Following his rehabilitation programme, Jamie has been fostered with further input and socialisatiion, and is doing really well and is now ready for a permanent home.

24. Emma

Emma came to us with 'issues' she has been rehabed over the past 6 months and has now found her forever home with an agility family

25. Mitzi

26 & 27. Prince & Conti

The two elderly paps have been found a wonderful home together. Our rescue co-ordinator was sorry to see them go as they were such a good little pair. But we are sure that they will live out the rest of their life together in a forever home.
